FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

Booking & Appointments

How do I book an appointment?

All bookings are done through my website. Fill out the contact form with your tattoo idea, placement, and size, and I’ll get back to you with availability and pricing details. A deposit is required to secure your appointment.

Do you take walk-ins?

I mainly work by appointment, but if I have time for a small piece, I’ll post availability on my Instagram. If you’re looking for something more detailed, it’s best to schedule ahead.

How much is the deposit, and is it refundable?

Deposits are required to book your appointment and go toward the final cost of your tattoo. They are non-refundable, but if you need to reschedule, you can transfer your deposit to a new date with at least 48 hours’ notice. No-call/no-shows or last-minute cancellations will forfeit the deposit.

Deposit amounts:

$50 for smaller tattoos ($200 and under).

$100 for standard session work.

$200 for larger projects or custom pieces that require design prep in advance.

Your deposit secures your spot and ensures my time is respected.

How much do you charge?

Pricing depends on size, detail, and placement. I offer:

Hourly sessions for larger or more detailed pieces.

Half-day and full-day rates for extended sessions.

Flat rates for select smaller tattoos.

For a custom quote, fill out the contact form with details about your tattoo idea, and I’ll provide an estimate.

Tattoo Prep & What to Expect

How should I prepare for my tattoo session?

• Get a good night’s sleep and eat before your appointment. A well-rested and well-fed body handles tattooing better.

Stay hydrated. Avoid excessive caffeine or alcohol the night before—both thin your blood.

Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the tattoo area. Dark-colored clothing is best in case of ink stains.

Can I bring someone with me?

You can bring one guest, but keep in mind that space is limited. No kids in the studio.

Does getting a tattoo hurt?

Pain tolerance varies, but yes—it will hurt. Some areas (ribs, knees, elbows) are more painful than others. If you’re worried, let me know, and I’ll guide you through it.

Aftercare Instructions

Healing with Tattoo Film (Recovery or Second Skin)

If I applied a breathable tattoo film (Recovery or Second Skin) to your tattoo, follow these steps:

First Few Days (2-5 Days)

• Keep the film on for 2-5 days, depending on how your skin reacts.

• If the film starts peeling up, leaking, or feels irritated, remove it and follow the traditional healing method (see below).

• If you’re unsure whether to keep it on or take it off, feel free to reach out to me.

When Removing the Film:

• Wash your hands first, then slowly peel off the film in the shower under warm water to loosen the adhesive.

Gently wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and fragrance-free soap (Dial Gold or Dr. Bronner’s unscented).

Pat dry with a clean paper towel—don’t rub!

• Apply a light, fragrance-free moisturizer such as Lubriderm, Aveeno, or Eucerin 2-3 times a day.

Avoid thick ointments like Aquaphor—lighter lotions are better for this healing method.

Healing with Traditional Bandaging (Saran Wrap Method)

If I didn’t use tattoo film, or you had to remove it early, follow these steps:

First 24 Hours:

• Leave the plastic wrap on for a few hours (or as instructed).

• When removing, wash your hands first, then clean the tattoo gently with lukewarm water and fragrance-free soap (Dial Gold or Dr. Bronner’s unscented).

Pat dry with a clean paper towel and let it breathe for 10-15 minutes before applying ointment.

Days 2-14:

• Apply a thin layer of Aquaphor for the first 4-5 days, then switch to a lighter fragrance-free lotion like Lubriderm, Eucerin, or Aveeno for the remainder of the healing process.

• Avoid scratching, picking, or peeling as it heals—this can cause fading or patchy spots.

• Keep it clean and dry—no soaking in water (baths, pools, hot tubs) for at least 2 weeks.

• Avoid direct sun exposure—wear loose clothing over the tattoo. No sunscreen until it’s fully healed.

Long-Term Care

• Once healed, always use SPF 30+ sunscreen to prevent fading.

• Moisturize regularly to keep your skin (and your tattoo) looking its best.

If you notice anything unusual (redness, swelling, pus, excessive pain), remove the film (if applicable) and reach out to me or a doctor. A properly healed tattoo should not be overly irritated.

Tattooing & Design Process

Do you do custom designs?

Yes—every tattoo I do is custom-made for each client. I don’t copy other artists’ work, but I can take inspiration from references to create something original.

Can I see my design before the appointment?

It depends on the piece, but typically, I finalize the design a few days before or the morning of your appointment. This allows me to focus on each client’s tattoo when it’s their turn, rather than being locked into a design too early. I find that I work best when I approach each piece with a fresh perspective closer to the appointment. If any adjustments are needed on the day of, I can make minor tweaks before we start.

Can you fix or cover up an old tattoo?

Depends on the piece. Some tattoos can be covered with new designs, while others may need laser removal first. Send me a clear photo of your existing tattoo, and I’ll let you know what’s possible.

Other Questions

Can I get tattooed if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

No. Tattooing while pregnant or breastfeeding is not recommended due to infection risk and ink absorption into the bloodstream.

Can I drink before my tattoo?

No. Alcohol thins your blood, which can cause excessive bleeding and make tattooing more difficult. If you show up drunk, I won’t tattoo you.

What if I’m late?

I allow a 20-minute grace period. After that, you may need to reschedule, and your deposit could be forfeited. If you’re running late, just let me know ASAP.

Final Thoughts

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. I appreciate every client who trusts me with their skin, and I look forward to working with you!
